If you are looking for a great way to listen to and discover new music the Zune HD is the one for you. In my opinion, this device does just what it purports to do, and that is why it got the 5 star rating. the display is pretty impressive, showing out a great depth of color not seen in other media devices. I would suggest buying a cover for the HD to keep it looking pristine, but so far I have had no problems. Given the chance, I would make the same decision to purchase the Zune HD again.

Longtime zune owners and lovers. Thrilled with the zune hd as replacement for old zunes.

Amazing display and functionality. Zune totally kicks ipod booty. Ease of use, software rules, really awesome.

Getting the zune phone (kin two) coming out in a month as well.

Movies on the zune hd are great!

I got the Zune HD for my wife, sort of like a going away present days before I had to leave on deployment overseas. She recieved it and tried to install the software on her computer, but it wont sync, the computer doesn’t recognize it. That’s just the begining of the problems. She’s well versed in computer useage and lingo and she tried downloading the updates countless times and installed, uninstalled, reinstalled the drivers, updates, and still the unit wont sync and the computer wont recognize. Later we called customer service and it was directed to the other side of the planet to non-english speaking idiots who are reading off a flow chart not knowing or understanding what was the real problem telling us to delete and then reinstall and delete again. They said software was not compatible with the most recent media player updates, so there was a down grade of the player. Still didnt’ work. There was deletion of the player. Still didn’t work. Error messages that ran in circles. Downloads and installations all over the place. We wound up having to reformat the computer just trying to make this damn thing work. Long story short. Its day three and she’s no where near able to transfer any music onto the unit, sync up with her computer. And I feel like a total idiot for getting her this POS frustration.

PS for those who didn’t know Zune HD is not compatible with WinXP64… just thougth I toss that out there even tho not very many people can get it. #but that wasn’t our problem#

Sold my Zune HD after 3 month of usage, for the following reasons

1)Zune software is not very good, navigation is unnecessarily frustrating, the UI is not very user friendly, Microsoft over-decorated the UI at the cost of navigation, and No MAC support in the foreseeable future. I’m not saying iTunes is perfect, but just that iTunes fits my preference

2)So few apps, I know it took iTunes years to reach 10,000 apps, maybe MS need more time. NO!!! Come on, Microsoft, put more emphasis on that if you really want Zune HD to be a decent competitor to iPod.

3)Web browser is below satisfaction. Some major languages can not be displayed(maybe will change after future firmware update), actually, the web browser is basically useless

4)Microsoft does not seem to take this device very seriously, see the hype around windows phone?

I’m not buying this as purely a media player, my expectation is high, I want to see a good experience of internet, and more importantly, the will to be a truly great device

I gave this 4 stars because it is not bad at all compared with other devices, but for this price, I think iPod touch is better and (still) shows more potential, not in terms of the tech spec of the device, but the focus of the companies behind them

Com’on Microsoft, you need to work hard and more innovation

ZUne HD has great potential, but no instruction manual. Very brief and few instructions for use. If you LOVE trial and error, you’ll love Zune
