I was looking at a solution to implement rear surround speakers for my computer system without running ugly wires across the room pay for expensive wiring. This product does the job just fine – Set up was easy and all you just have to turn it on and the transmitter and receiver will link together automatically. The problem starts when you plug in the USB cable to output audio from the computer, like many users, the snaps, crackle and pops make the product completely unusable. Granted there is a lot of wifi interference nearby as I am in the central city but this is inexcusable. Thankfully I do not use this product for this particular purpose and the audio is perfect if you decide to run the power cable into the transmitter (unfortunately you can not utilize the USB as an audio source and instead have to rely on RCA in. However the sound quality is surprisingly good when used in this manner. Note that the receiver does not supply powered outputs and you will need a separate amp for you rear speakers. Actually the best is to purchase another 2.1 for your rear speakers and you’ll have a rear sub in your config. Regardless this is still by far the cheapest alternative to wireless speakers. I will update this review when I test the lag (if any) later. For the price it is worth giving it a try.

This is a pretty cool little device. It works as advertised, easy hookup, just basically plug and play. The only issue I am having is that occasionally the master unit goes into red mode and doesn’t work. It can be fixed by unplugging the usb cable from the unit and re plugging in. Kind of a pain, but I have not taken time to see if there are any resolutions for this, so I wont downgrade the unit for this at this time more than 1 star. If it were not for this, I would rate it 5 stars. It is cool that the remote unit has FF/REV etc controls, and they actually work with Pandora, which I thought was pretty cool. I haven’t tried to play media from the computer, but have used it for playing streaming internet content. Local AM radio is so much better sounding this way, sounds like like FM. Hopefully I can solve the glitch, but if not, I am still happy with the purchase.

I now know why this was on sale. Nobody in their right mind would pay full price for this waste of equipment. Totally disappointed with this product. The sound card on the board sounds better. Don’t waist your money on this device. It does send sound to another set of speakers but the quality is terrible.

I purchased this in Nov2009. It only seems to work when it wants to. I had to goto the support site to reload the units software. That helped once. However now it quit again and checking software update did not help. I have it hooked up to a Windows XP SP3 system via USB cable.
