Great sounding (despite being fairly small) speakers without the wires. But wire between the left and right speakers could be longer, and they don’t get the wireless signal very well if there are to many walls
I bought the T20W speakers along with the Express slot transmitter. The setup is easy if you know anything about your computer and operating system (and you should). The sound was great for small, portable speakers. Now for the limited conditions: 1. I could not use them in my backyard, sixty feet away, because there were three walls between my notebook transmitter and the T20W speakers. I realize obstacles reduce reception, but this was excessive. 2. Not having the ability to control anything but volume, was the reason I returned the components. These speakers need the same four-function control panel that is incorporated in the SB1122 wireless receiver (i.e. play/pause, previous/next). And it would be simple to do because all these components are part of the X-Fi family. If you intend to use the speakers in a different section of the house than the computer, I suggest using the separate wireless receiver so you can plug it into any (powered) speakers you prefer, and still have basic remote contol of your music.
I purchased these speakers with the intent of using them from my laptop. After going over the manual several times, searching the web and contacting support (they sent me a link to the website…), I still haven’t found out how to connect the speakers over the wireless network. Perhaps they require another piece of hardware? I’m not sure, and haven’t been able to find that out.
Bottom line – I’m still hoping to find out how to make them work so that I don’t have to return them.
I bought these speakers and the Sound Blaster wireless audio transmitter for my son for Christmas. I plugged in the speakers and hooked them up via the direct audio cable to gauge the sound. I thought I had to install the software and pair the speakers to get them running on wireless but as I plugged in the transmitter I thought I would just uplug the audio cable to see what happens. Sure enough the music from his laptop was streaming wirelessly to the speakers. The sound is clear and continuous. The base is good enough for a medium-sized room. There was some distortion when you crank the volume up beyond about three quarters but that was the only drawback. Remeber this is only through the usb transmitter and no additional stations were needed for same room sound.
I bought them for my laptop and having music all around my apartment. The sound is great. Although it took me about 30 minutes to get them working and reading several times the tiny instructions but everything sounds excellent with no delay. Definitely recommend them. I got them through another store which were cheaper than Amazon.com.
